Outreach is harder than it looks

Most cold email fails before anyone reads it.

Stale lists, unchecked addresses and emails that arrive at the wrong hour, in bulk, from a brand-new mailbox. Spindle starts from businesses that are really there, and sends to them the way a careful person would.

Lists that are stale before you buy them

Bought lead lists are shared with everyone else who paid for them, full of people who left, addresses that bounce and businesses that closed last year.

01

Hours of copying from maps and websites

Search a map, open each website, hunt for a contact page, paste the email into a sheet, guess whether it works. Then do it again for the next city.

02

Cold email that burns your domain

Hundreds of emails at 3 a.m. their time, to addresses nobody checked, from a brand-new mailbox. Bounces climb, spam filters notice, and your real email suffers.

03

Replies lost in a busy inbox

The one person who said yes is buried between out-of-office notices and bounces, and the follow-up still goes out to someone who asked you to stop.

04

From a map to a reply

Find, qualify, reach.

  1. 1
    Find

Search Google Maps by trade and city, or a whole country, in English or Arabic. Spindle splits busy areas into tiles so you get every business, within a call budget you set.

  2. 2
    Qualify

It reads each business's website for emails, phones and WhatsApp numbers, checks every address, and scores the lead with the reasons shown, against your rules for each country.

  3. 3
    Review

Go through the best leads first from the keyboard: approve, reject or undo, with everything about the business on one screen.

  4. 4
    Reach

Campaigns go out from your own mailbox, inside each recipient's working hours, with follow-ups in the same thread for people who haven't replied.

  5. 5
    Learn

Replies are sorted for you, opt-outs and bounces handled, and analytics show which version, country and hour actually get answers.

A lead under review: its score and the reasons for it, the email address Spindle checked and where it was found, and the business's details

One app, from search to reply

Everything between "who should we email?" and "they said yes".

Built for people who send outreach every day: fast from the keyboard, careful with your domain, and honest about what works.

Discovery

Every business in the area, not just the first page.

Type what you're looking for and where. Spindle searches Google Maps in tiles, splits the busy ones, and keeps going until it has them all or reaches the budget you set for that search.

  • Search a city, or leave it empty to cover the whole country
  • Results in English or Arabic
  • Your own Google Places key, with monthly and per-search call limits, and every call counted
  • Then crawl, check and score in one go: new leads arrive ready to review
The Discovery screen: a new search with the area split into tiles and a call budget, the search history, and what's waiting to be crawled, checked, scored and written

Qualify

Know who you're emailing, and why they're worth it.

Each website is read for contact details, every address is checked, and each lead gets a score from 0 to 100 with the points behind it, so the best ones are at the top.

  • Emails, phone and WhatsApp numbers found on the business's own site, with the page they came from
  • Checks for format, disposable and free-mail addresses and the domain's mail servers, with an optional mailbox probe
  • Scores from the email's quality, rating, reviews and your country rules, explained line by line
  • A role address on the business's own domain is preferred over a personal or free-mail one
A lead's details: a score of 100 with its reasons, the best email marked valid and where it was found, other contacts, and the business's website, address and rating

Review queue

Hundreds of leads reviewed before your coffee cools.

The review queue is built for the keyboard: move with J and K, approve with A, reject with R, and undo anything. Only leads with an email your country rules allow can be approved.

  • Tabs for to review, no usable email, approved and rejected
  • Filters by country, category and score, saved as views
  • Search across names, domains, cities and emails
  • Export any selection to CSV
The leads list: businesses with their score, best email, category, country, city, Google rating and status, sorted by score

Templates & AI openers

Emails that read like you wrote each one.

Write once with variations and fields, and every email comes out a little different. Preview it for any lead and any mailbox, then send yourself a test before anything goes out.

  • Spintax like {Hi|Hello}, fields like the business's name and city, and conditions
  • An optional first line written by AI from the lead's own website, with Claude or any OpenAI-compatible model, and a monthly spending limit
  • English and Arabic templates, Arabic laid out right to left
  • Send a test to yourself, reply to it, and see how Spindle understood the reply
The template editor: a first email with variations and fields, and its preview for Smile Dental Clinic with the footer and the Send a test box

Campaigns

From your own mailbox, at a pace mailbox providers trust.

Each person connects their own address, and Spindle sends from their computer during each recipient's working hours, a few minutes apart, within every mailbox's daily limit. New mailboxes warm up gradually.

  • A first email, A/B versions of it, and follow-ups in the same thread for people who don't reply
  • Each country sends in its own working days and hours, in the recipient's time zone
  • Gmail and Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho or any SMTP and IMAP server, with an app password kept in the computer's keychain
  • Warm-up from five emails a day, random gaps between sends, and a daily cap per mailbox
  • Follow-ups stop the moment someone replies, bounces or opts out
A campaign that's sending: two versions of the first email, a follow-up three days later, and the recipients with the version each one gets
The mailboxes: today's sends against each mailbox's cap, warm-up progress, and its reply, bounce and opt-out rates against their limits

Inbox

The replies that matter, ready to answer.

Spindle reads your mailbox for replies to your campaigns and sorts them: interested, not now, not interested, wrong person, unsubscribe. Bounces and auto-replies are handled without you.

  • Replies matched to the email and lead they answer, in English and Arabic
  • File a reply with the number keys, mark it done with E, undo with Ctrl+Z
  • Hard bounces and opt-outs suppress the address for the whole team
  • Out-of-office replies don't stop the follow-ups; real replies do
The Inbox: replies needing attention, an interested reply open with its lead and campaign, and buttons to file it

Analytics

Learn what gets answered, and stop guessing.

Reply rates by country, category, template, mailbox and step, the best weekday and hour in each recipient's own time, and A/B tests that tell you when one version has really won.

  • A heatmap of reply rates by weekday and hour, in the recipient's time zone
  • A/B winners only at 95% confidence and at least 100 sends per version
  • Send only the winner with one click
  • Interested replies, bounces and opt-outs next to every reply rate
Analytics: sent, reply rate, interested, bounce rate and opt-outs, the best time to send by weekday and hour, and two A/B tests, one with a winner found

Polite by design

Outreach your domain can live with.

The fastest way to ruin cold email is to send too much, too soon, to the wrong people. Spindle's limits are on by default, so a busy week never costs you your reputation.

  • Country rules: Choose which countries you email at all, which kinds of address are allowed in each (role addresses only, no free mail), and their working days and hours.
  • Unsubscribe that works: Every email carries an unsubscribe header and a line saying how to opt out. A reply or a click on the email app's Unsubscribe button puts the person on the team's opt-out list.
  • Mailboxes that protect themselves: A mailbox whose bounce or unsubscribe rate crosses your limit pauses itself until someone has looked at the list it was sending to.
  • Never the same business twice: When a teammate already found a business, it isn't added again, so two people never email the same company.
Country rules in Settings: outreach allowed to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, everything else blocked, each country's time zone and working week, and the minimum score to approve

Private by design

Get Spindle 0.1.1

From download to your first replies.

Pick the file for your system. We'll email you a one-time code, and the download starts as soon as you enter it. Each person on your team installs it on their own computer.

First launch, setup & updates

Windows

If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", choose More info → Run anyway. On Windows 10, the installer adds Microsoft's WebView2 if it's missing.

macOS

Drag Spindle into Applications. The first time, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. (On macOS 14 and earlier, right-click the app and choose Open.)

Linux

Install the .deb with apt or the .rpm with dnf, like any other package. The AppImage needs no install: make it executable (chmod +x) and run it.

Setting up

Add your Google Places key with a monthly limit, check the country rules, and connect your mailbox with an app password. Then send yourself a test from Templates.

Updating

Spindle checks for new versions and installs them for you, keeping your leads, campaigns and settings.

You'll need a Google Places API key and a mailbox that allows SMTP and IMAP with an app password. The first-launch warning appears because Spindle is new and not yet widely downloaded; it only shows once. Verify your download (optional): each file's SHA-256 checksum is in SHA256SUMS.txt. FAQ

What is Spindle?

Spindle is a desktop app from Unravelers Technologies for finding local businesses and reaching them with polite email outreach. It finds businesses on Google Maps, reads their websites for contact details, checks and scores every lead, and sends campaigns with follow-ups from your own mailbox, then sorts the replies.

Where do the leads come from?

From Google Maps, through the Google Places API, using your own API key. You pay Google for the searches directly, and Spindle counts every call against the monthly and per-search limits you set, so there are no surprises.

Does it send from your servers?

No. Emails leave from your own mailbox, through your own email provider, from the computer Spindle runs on. That means your computer needs to be on and Spindle running (it can sit in the tray) during the hours your emails go out.

Which email providers work?

Gmail and Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Outlook, Zoho, Yahoo, iCloud and any provider with SMTP and IMAP. Most need an app password rather than your normal password; for Google that means turning on 2-Step Verification first.

How do people unsubscribe?

Each email has an unsubscribe header, so Gmail and Outlook show their own Unsubscribe button, and a footer line saying to reply "unsubscribe". Either way, Spindle reads it and adds the person to the team's opt-out list, and nothing more is sent to them.

Is cold email allowed where we sell?

It depends on the country, and on whether you email businesses or people. Spindle lets you block countries, allow only business addresses, and respect working hours and opt-outs, but the rules for your market are yours to check; we can show you how we set it up for the Gulf.

Does it work in Arabic?

Yes. Searches can return Arabic results, templates can be written in Arabic and are laid out right to left, and Arabic replies such as unsubscribe requests are understood.

What do the AI openers cost?

You use your own Claude or OpenAI-compatible API key and set a monthly limit; writing one opener costs a fraction of a cent. They're optional: without them, the template's usual line is used.

Can a team use it?

Yes. Each person has Spindle on their own computer with their own leads and mailbox, while the rules, templates and opt-out list are shared, and nobody adds a business a teammate already found.

Which systems does it run on?

Windows 10 and 11, macOS on Apple silicon and Intel, and 64-bit Linux (.deb, .rpm or AppImage).

Why does Windows or macOS show a warning the first time?

Both systems double-check apps that aren't yet widely downloaded. It only happens on the first launch; the steps are in the download section above.

How is it priced?

It depends on your team and the help you need to get started. Email us and we'll talk it through.
